This series of lectures starts right at the beginning and takes you through each of the elements in the software, step by step, showing you how to find the tools you need and how to use them to shape your music or sounds in the way that you want, for your project.The series starts by showing you how to set up your preferences so that Audacity works the way you want it to work. You can change the default settings in the preferences to enable your workflow to run smoother and quicker. We then move on to how you can import files into Audacity, save your work and, once you have finished working on your project, the various ways you can export your work as usable audio files to send out, post on websites or social media or use in playback software to run a show.There are many tools in Audacity to edit and enhance your music or sounds and to get them to sound how you need them to. In the series, we look at the many effects that are available to you in Audacity. This is one of the great elements of this free software – the Effects. There are many in the effects menu and we look at some of the more commonly used effects and show you how they work and what you can do with them to enhance your music or sounds.The course wraps up with a look at the recording functions on Audacity. Not only can you import music and sounds to use in Audacity, but you can also record your own onto the software, which you can then edit the same way as any imported files.This course gives you an in-depth, beginners look at Audacity and how you can use it to create the music and sounds you desire for your use – whatever that may be.
